Associated Prof. Dr. Nefise AKÇELİK graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology in 2005. In 2007, she was appointed as Research and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Biology. She completed her MSc degree at Ankara University Biotechnology Institute in 2008 on the topic “Genetic Determination of Industrially Important Traits in Lactococcus lactis subsp.  lactis MBLL9”. She completed her Ph.D. degree at Ankara University Institute of Science and Technology on the topic “In-Vitro Production and Identification of Protein-Protein Interactions of MisLl Autotransporter Protein of Salmonella Typhimurium”. During her PhD, she worked in University of California Irvine and San Diego with Council of Higher Education-funded bursary.

Associated Prof. Dr. Nefise AKÇELİK ‘s main research topics are; biofilm eradication, molecular characterization of biofilm structure, Salmonella pathogenticity, determination of new antimicrobial agents.
